It's Monday

and I need more coffee.

Most of you know I have an addiction to coffee/caffeine but it's more than that, I actually really like the taste of coffee.  About half of adults drink coffee on a regular basis (it’s the most common “food” consumed at breakfast, according to the American Dietetic Association), which amounts to over 330 million cups of coffee a day.  I don't drink it constantly - I do drink plenty of water too.

There are a ton of websites that offer ways to stop the addiction:
Addiction Inbox: Coffee Addiction
Ill Effects of Caffeine and How to Quit Coffee
Coffee Addiction - LoveToKnow Recovery
How to Give Up Coffee
Coffee addiction. Is it a problem?

Some of the websites tell you to stop cold turkey - no caffiene at all.  But you know what?  Here are just some of the symptoms people feel when suddenly deprived of their caffeine fix:

- Headache
- Fatigue or drowsiness
- Depression or irritability
- Difficulty in concentrating
- Flulike symptoms including nausea, muscle pain, and stiffness

If you decide to quite caffeine and kick your coffee addiction for good, then the withdrawal symptoms generally last only between seven and nine days.

HA - no thanks.  I'll have a venti, extra hot, triple shot peppermint white mocha please.
