News Headlines - Really?

I am browsing the usual news websites and couldn't help but notice that the headlines of today are so, well depressing.  Check these out:

Vicks nasal spray recalled over bacteria - so not going there, an article about snot and bacteria, no thanks.

Pap tests should start at age 21 - really? What happens if the woman is sexually active long before that?  HPV is a big thing in case you hadn't heard (and you get that from boys!)

Suspect in girls death to face charges - well I should hope so, it wouldn't be good if they let a suspect go free to kill someone else.

Students arrested in tuition protests - they SHOULD protest, the tuition rates are extremely high and keep going up, for what?

Martha: Rachel Ray can't cook - well Martha, you can't seem to pay your taxes and stay out of jail.  Who cares?

I want my mammograms! - and you shall have them!  I personally can't stand going every six months to get the ta-tas squished by a machine, but I do what must be done.

Interest on US Debt at $4.8 TRILLION -  I put the emphasis on TRILLION.  All I can say is GOOD GRIEF.

Suicide bomber kills 18 in Pakistan - well, that's what suicide bombers do, they kill people.

My dating deal breakers - HA, I'd love to get a date.

See my problem, why can't there be any happy news?  Why not make a site happynews.com?  I would totally visit it everyday because these sites are just too depressing.  I know good things happen everyday, why can't they share that too?

  1. I am laughing so hard right now! Side-splitting guffaws! I have learned that if I firmly plant my focus on what God is doing to work good out of our messes, instead of what humans are doing to destroy the "good", then I'm a whole lot more joyful. It does become depressing to continually see example after example of humans choosing to be used as instruments of destruction rather than choosing instead to be used as vessels to pour out what good that God has poured into them out into others. Ideally, humanity should exercise it's free will to utilize the "power" it has been given to create beauty, build up, uplift, encourage & edify---not to kill, steal, tear down & destroy.
