It's the thought that counts ...

I recently had a conversation with Chantel about Christmas presents.  She mentioned to me that now that she's older she wants to go to the mall and get me something (with help from Santa of course) for Christmas.  She's been plotting since the summer so it must be good.

She mentioned that when she was little she would go into her room and find "cute" things to wrap up and give to me as a present because she wanted me to be able to open something on Christmas morning.  These cute things would range from a childs necklace, a picture frame (that she took the picture out of), and handmade cards/thoughts.  Every Christmas morning she would be so excited that she was able to give me something and make the morning special, little did she know that it's the fact that she found those cute things and wrapped them to give to me that meant the most.

She knows now that I loved everything she gave me (although she's not sure why) on Christmas morning because it was in the spirit of Christmas and she gave it from her heart.  She'll learn this when she has a little girl of her own someday WAY in the future.

Remember that while you're out running around for the last minute gifts, it's the thought and meaning behind it that counts not the dollar amount or brand name that's attached to it.

PS - I'll probably get yelled at later for this :)
