BBBrrrrrrr

Over the past week we have listened to every meteorologist tell us about the weather in our areas.

Northeast - Lake-effect snows will continue today and tomorrow off of Lakes Erie and Ontario as winds continue to blow across the Great Lakes. Highs today will range from the teens in the mountains of West Virginia and western Pennsylvania, as well as western and central New York, to the mid 30s along the New England Coast.

Midwest - Lake-effect snows are also expected near the Great Lakes in the Midwest over the next several days as winds continue to blow across the Lakes, with the heaviest snow expected in the snow belts. Highs today will range from the single digits in much of the Missouri and Upper Mississippi Valleys to around 40 in southwestern Kansas.

West - A system moving into the Pacific Northwest will bring rain to the coast and snow in the mountains and High Plains through Wednesday. Highs today will range from around 10 in far northern Montana to around 80 near Los Angeles.

South - Cold and dry weather is expected across most of the South today and tomorrow, with the exception of some snow showers in the Southern Appalachians and parts of the Lower Mississippi Valley. Highs today will range from the teens in northeastern Oklahoma, northern Arkansas, and the higher elevations of western North Carolina and Virginia, to the 60s in south Florida.

Why can't they just cut to the chase and say it's going to snow and it's really really cold? Do we really need to know the actual temperature? Let's face it, if you're anywhere except LA it's really cold out. Even south Florida is in the 60s - that's cold for them (bunch of snow birds!).

When you look at the snow map - isn't the snow where it's suppose to be? Over Idaho, Montana, the Great Lakes region and New England?? All of these places are prepared for snow and know that it's going to come whether they want it to or not. As a matter of a fact, a couple of FB updates were asking to turn off the snow - well ... don't you think if we knew where the switch was we would have turned it off a long time ago??

A meteorologist blogger is discussing the top weather stories for the decade. Can you guess?

Tornadoes, Beach erosion, tropical cyclones (do you know the costliest one?) and you guess it - global warming. Really?? If there's global warming, then someone please explain to me why it's so freakin' cold outside (except in LA)!
