The final day

Yesterday was my final day in Wilmington and it was a whirlwind of a day.  The attorneys left for court like usual and we had an idea that they might end yesterday or early today so the excitement level in the Law Center rose pretty quickly.  We were all ready to come home.

The attorneys returned from Court around 2:30pm and let us know we were done.  Case is finished - this phase at least. They were in their rooms packing (although I'm convinced by the speed in which they left the hotel that some of them never unpacked completely) and at Chelsea's Tavern for a congratulatory drink by 345pm and gone shortly after.  There were no attorneys left in the building by 530pm.  Gone - see ya - have a nice trip.  Even the ones that live on the west coast were able to get a flight out of Philly.

It was just the staff left.  We had to pack up the Law Center.  We all had our parts that had to be dealt with some had larger parts than others and some (like me) got out of there quicker than others.  There are still staff there that will leave with the trucks tomorrow morning and head back to the DC office.

As I as packing you would have thought my lost sock would have shown its sorry face - it didn't.  So, it's partner got tossed in the trash at the hotel. I'm totally baffled - I have no idea where that sock went.
I was able to come home with a suitcase full of clean clothes - BONUS! but I'm stuck on the couch for 4 nights because my mom is in my bed.  The cats are still not speaking to me because I've been gone for so long.  Bella (the dog) didn't know what to think when I walked in the door - she thought I was gone forever and started getting comfortable with my mom.

We hope to know the conclusion of the case in about 30-60 days.  When I know, I'll let you know.  It was a pretty cool experience and I have to go back in January for phase II of the trial.

I'm home for a busy week then off for a quick stop in NJ and then onto Natick for some college tours in NE for a week and then back to NJ for an overnight on the way home.  Can't wait to see Rick and Sally since I missed the whole trip the last time.
It's good to be home.
