In Washington, D.C. today ...

January 22, 1973 - do you know what happened?

The Supreme Court decided to legalize abortion through their decision in Roe v. Wade.  Thus, today and every January 22 is the March for Life.  I'm not going to get into pro-life or pro-choice.   That's your own personal decision that I'm sure a lot of factors lead into that decision.

Today, tens of thousands of catholic youth are going to descend on Washington, D.C. to participate in the March, attend Mass at the Verizon Center and rally their way through the city.

In the Verizon Center the youth will be listening popular Catholic recording artists: Steve Angrisano, Matt Maher and Band, and Jessie Manibusan, go to Confession, Pray the Rosary and participate in a Mass with Priests, Bishops and Cardinals from across the country.

After Mass - they are going to March down the Mall to Capital Hill and to the Supreme Court building.  It's pretty amazing to see - trust me.

I am hoping that the youth that arrive in the city and participate in the March are taking everything in.  The March wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the First Amendment of the Constitution or the Civil Rights Movement and I hope they can grasp that they are part of a much bigger Church, love the fact that there are tens of thousands of youth who are standing up for the same thing they believe in and they are now taking part in history.  It's a pretty cool feeling - I know.

Let's just hope the weather holds out for them.
