What a week!

What a week we've had!  We left Maryland last Saturday and spent the night in NJ at my brothers.  We had a great time hanging out with them (like always) and then hit the road on late Sunday afternoon to Natick.  Within my first 24 hours I made important stops - Natick Pizza, Casey's Diner and Park Street Ice Cream.  When we were here at Christmas I missed all three and was totally disappointed.  If you don't know, Natick Pizza is closing soon.  Sadly, I had my last italian grinder from them.

My mom lives in a two bedroom apartment which is the bottom floor of a house on Cottage Street.  Which means, someone gets the futon in the second bedroom and the other person gets the pull out couch.  Guess who gets the couch??  The thing about this is, the couch is over 20 years old.  The dog is even too scared to move on the bed because she is scared of falling through. I bet you're asking, why not sleep on the futon - well, it was mine when I lived in Boston 20 years ago.  See my problem - it's a lose lose.

Monday we went to Clark University in Worcester MA.  It's a small liberal arts research University.  Student population is 2200 and they made the list of 40 Schools that have changed lives.  http://ctcl.org/   It was a great tour and love the school.

Tuesday we traveled in the other direction into Boston to Boston University.  It was raw, cold and nasty.  BUT it was a great day. We LOVE BU.  The school moved to the #1 spot on the list.  I also got to see my closest friend in the world, my brother since 7th grade.  I've missed him so much but felt automatically felt as though we've never been separated.

Tuesday night C decided that she wanted to sleep on the pull out couch with me.  I prayed before she climbed onto the bed because I thought we were going down.  All three of us, falling through the couch and then me not having a place to sleep. Every time she rolled over, I prayed.  I am sure my Natick peeps would have come through with another couch for me to crash on. right?

Wednesday was a long drive South to Fairfield University.  It was a beautiful campus but we are not sold on the school - sadly it's been crossed off the list.  We went to JJ McKay's for dinner.  I'm not sure I've ever been there, but my mother likes the place, so we went.

Thursday was a short drive South to UCONN.  Fantastic campus, great classes and it's now #2 on the list.  Corrado's for lunch.  I learned that they're for sale too.  What in the world is going on in this town?  We went to Agostino's for dinner.  There's no place like home, there's no place like home.  Oh wait, that was Dorothy.  I love going here because you always know you're going to get a good meal and enjoy every bite of it.

Today was a quiet day, enjoying a day off.  It's been a long time since I've had a day doing nothing.  Tomorrow, we head back to NJ and then home on Sunday.
