It's Monday at least the calendar tells me it is. It's my brother Tim's birthday - he's OLD.
C and my mom returned to MD from NJ today, of course not in time for C to go to school so I had the pleasure of calling the school this morning and telling them that C will not be in today. I get the usual questions, "Is she ill?" "no, she's feeling fine" "she's in NJ with her grandmother". Now, if they were smart, they would look back in C's records and look at all the times she has missed school this year and 80% of them are because she's hanging out with GRANDMA! What a life.
Since I've been here, I haven't had to pay for a meal or a snack or a drink. It's pretty nice. Tonight I had a huge piece of prime rib. I needed red meat desperately - I could feel it. It was one of the better pieces of prime rib I've had in a long time - which is surprising because of where I am. Finding restaurants around here that are open after 6pm is tough - we're at the point that we are traveling 25+ minutes for a decent meal every night.
We often think that teens have the munchies and a sweet tooth. You should see these associates! We did a Target run earlier today and bought so much JUNK that they technically should not come out of a sugar coma for a month. Reese's pieces, skittles, dry roasted peanuts, twizzlers, peeps, kit kats, jelly beans - you name it, it's in the "STASH".
Tomorrow is the big day - opening statements are at 1pm and then our first expert will take the stand. We've worked hard for a long time and this phase will come to a close in two weeks.
Wish us luck -
miss and love you C

Just curb the sugar rush before you go to bed! And what are you doing for COFFEE???
ReplyDeleteI had the DC office send up a case of Starbucks Houseblend that we brewed on a regular basis. Trust me, I missed my baristas!
