I need sleep!

MOM  MOM  MOM  MOM  MOM  MOM  MOM  MOM  MOM  MOM is pretty much all I heard last night for a few hours.  The people staying next to me decided to leave the little boy alone while they went to a function down stairs.  I finally got to the point where I called the front desk and complained.  Who in the world would leave their small child alone in a hotel room like that??  I don't get it.

Today was busy and went by pretty fast.  I found a great bakery about 15 minutes away that had a vanilla pound cake with vanilla cream icing.  One of our experts from Norway is celebrating his birthday today and was so thankful that we did something to celebrate it with him.  He is so far away from his family and his grandchildren that he was sad he was not going to celebrate it with them.  Then - ta da! We skyped his wife in with the grand kids.  The smile on this mans face was priceless.  The kids were so excited to see him, it was so cool.

The attorneys were going back and forth with the defendants attorneys today because we wouldn't reveal our location to them.  One of the firms that is trying to find us has been known to play dirty tricks so we are playing it safe.  We've told them over and over that if they want to get in touch with us they need to contact our local counsel - blah blah blah.  One firm actually came right out and told us we were being rude because we wouldn't tell them where we were.  Nope - just smart by protecting our client, experts and staff.

Six experts from around the country and Canada arrived today.  One attorney arrived and Anthony went to Manhattan for meetings (unexpectedly).   Never a dull moment!

I know all the front desk and banquet staff by first name now and have worked it so I can get anything I want or need.  They have been fantastic.  Peter the bell person, is only allowed to drive the shuttle within a three mile radius of the hotel, but I talked him to "living a little" and "taking the bull by the horns" - he took me to the bakery and I gave him a monetary tip and a cupcake (shhh don't tell about the cupcake - Nichole at the front desk will yell at him).

Off to read some homework. Respond to e-mails and hopefully get some rest.

More tomorrow.  Love you C
