Yesterday was a whirlwind. It started off a normal day, breakfast from Einstein Bagels (I've grown quite fond of Asiago cheese bagels with Sundried Tomato Shmear) and Starbucks Houseblend (that we had sent up from the DC office) and a banana. If you know me, I rarely eat fruit because it does horrible things to my digestive system that I don't want to get into because it would turn this PG rated blog into an R one REALLY fast. Plus let's face it, there are some things in life that you really don't want to hear.
My partner from Brussels (Anthony) came into town yesterday. It's nice seeing him. I get to see him every month and a half or so, sometimes more. We've been working together for 10 years and I think it's worked out so well because it's a long distance relationship - he stays in Brussels with his wife and children and I stay here in the States. PERFECT! All joking aside, he's a great person to be working with.
Yesterday I received a call from Sally (a little background, sometimes I call her Ricks gal Sal, but really, she's my sister because she's been in my life since I was 10 and I really don't remember her not being my sister - so she's stuck with me) asking where my mom and C were and are they coming to NJ today. Pretending not to sound confused, I responded, "well moms at work and C should be at school and no they're coming next weekend." To make a long story short, dummy me got dates mixed up for when Amy and Malachi were going to be in town and almost blew the whole great grandma/Malachi visit thing. Thank you Sally for saving me! So C will pick up "Natalie" (as C likes to call her) and then drive to NJ for some family time with them. Phew!
Did I mention I'm at a DoubleTree? One of the best things about this hotel are the warm cookies at the front desk. Did you know that if you go by and check on them daily they'll give you one? SCORE!
