I'm pretty sure it's Thursday

I've only been here since Tuesday and my days are already running together.  Sad I know but when you're going from your hotel room to the Law Center and back again, I don't think it can be helped.

I haven't slept very well the past two nights so tonight I am armed with a Tylenol PM to knock me out for a bit to at least give me the rest I need to make me a lot more functional than I was today.  I managed to start my day on time but as the day went along, I noticed that things were not quite going my way and there wasn't enough Starbucks (which we had shipped up from the DC office) in the pot to save me.  I had to go outside in the 30 degree weather to wake up and refocus.  What didn't help is that some of the people I am sharing the Law Center with like the temperature to be 80 inside which to me is like a sauna and a comfortable nap atmosphere.  Can you see where my problem was?

I got to chat with C today which was cool even if it was for 5 minutes and 35 seconds (she was in the car on the way to swimming).  I got the usual run down, "yes I have homework but it's not due until Tuesday, the dog won't eat breakfast and things are fine."  That was pretty much it!  I did most of the talking.  Did you get the parking pass for school? How much gas is in the car?  Have you been by the house?  Are the cats mad?  Is Bella behaving?  Are you excited to see grandma?  Then I had to go, quick I love yous - drive safe.

So the case I'm working on - it's pretty interesting - lots of negotiating going on right now with the three defendants.  No talk of settlement in sight - which is ok.

The attorneys are hard at work, the legal assistants below me are on a 24/7 schedule (it's nice to be higher up on the totem pole) and I'm blogging with a full belly of PF Chang's lettuce wraps (sorry C ) and chicken fried rice hoping no one calls me because of an emergency they can't handle.

I think tomorrow I'll venture out of the hotel a block or two.  We've been warned not to go far alone because it's not safe outside the legal district. But come on, this is Wilmington, DE what in the world could there be to see?

Love you C - wish I had hippy or bear with me to keep you close.

P
